Best Things to Do in Stockholm
My second destination in the Nordic countries has been Stockholm, the capital of Sweden (language: Swedish, currency: Swedish krona) and which is made up of 14 islands situated between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea.
Stockholm is known for its beauty, has many striking buildings, as well as numerous parks, gardens and canals.
Stockholm was founded on the small island of Stadsholmen, place now known as Gamla Stan or Old Town.
It is in the Old Town where we can find the great majority of emblematic places of Stockholm as well as places aimed at tourism like shops, restaurants and bars.
The most visited and photographed place would be Stortorget, the oldest square in Stockholm and was created from medieval times, with buildings dating from the 15th to the 17th centuries.
In this same square is the Nobel Museum, which shows all the winners of the Nobel Prize and their works, this museum is a sample of the evolution of the science and the humanity in more than a century.
Close to Stortorget Square, you will find the Stockholm Cathedral or Storkyrkan and the Royal Palace of Stockholm where King Charles XVI Gustav lives (as well as other European countries, Sweden is governed by a constitutional monarchy).
In the firmament of the Old City the highest tower corresponds to the German Church of Stockholm or Tyska Kyrkan.
I recommend you to get lost in the narrow streets of the Old Town and take the opportunity to try out the traditional Swedish dish: cinnamon bun.
Other areas of interest include Djurgården Island. Here you will find the Vasa Museum, Skansen, the Nordic Museum, the Gröna Lund amusement park, as well as a large park. Undoubtedly my greatest recommendation will be the Vasa Museum which has a warship with that name dating from the seventeenth century.
The other district that you should visit is Södermalm which has numerous cafés, galleries and independent restaurants which makes it the favorite place for young people and artists. Here my biggest recommendation would be to visit Omnipollo for craft beers of which my favorite is ice cream beer and also the outdoor bars.
Something to highlight during my stay in Stockholm is the place where I stay: the "STF Vandrarhem af Chapman & Skeppsholmen", which is a ship that faces the Old Town and serves as a hotel and hostel with wonderful views of Stockholm. Definitely a place that I highly recommend to stay and live a different experience.
And of course I can not pass up the opportunity to share some of my favorite buildings in this city.
Stockholm has been my favorite city in the Nordic countries because its beauty is majestic, it is a city in which you can walk a lot to admire its surroundings and find peace, besides beingg like the other Nordic countries with a great quality of Life ... by the way Stockholm is considered one of the cities with the most beautiful women in the world.
I say goodbye with a video in 4k of this great city.
